A PASSENGER who achieved internet celebrity after helping eject an alleged fare dodger from a train has been told he will not be prosecuted over the incident.
Alan Pollock, 35, from Stirling, was dubbed “the Big Man” after a video of him intervening in a dispute between a conductor and 19-year-old Sam Main on the the 9:33pm Edinburgh-Perth train at Linlithgow on 9 December.
A two-minute video, filmed by a passenger and watched more than two million times on YouTube, showed Mr Pollock removing Mr Main from the train.
The Crown Office has now confirmed that criminal proceedings will not be brought against either man.
A spokesman for the Crown Office said: “The Procurator Fiscal at Livingston received reports concerning two males aged 35 and 19 in connection with an incident in Linlithgow on Friday 9 December 2011.
“After full and careful consideration of the reports by Crown Counsel, it was decided that it is not in the public interest to prosecute either male and the cases are now closed.”
